Esalen Approach to Trauma
As a Massage Therapist, with over 16 years of clinical experience in treating soft tissue function and pain, I provide a gentle and thoughtful approach to healing and wellness. I received my Bachelor of Art in Art History from the University of North Carolina at Wilmington in 1993 and received my massage therapy diploma from the Body Therapy Institute in 2008. I was drawn to BTI initially because of their focus on body-based psychology. I have been practicing massage therapy since 2009. While I began my career with a focus on women's health, my approach changed with the introduction to Stephen Terrell's Transforming the Experience-Based Brain. Terrell's TEB program encompassed all that I loved about Porges's polyvagal theory, attachment theory, and developmental psychology. Further, I certified in Integrative Attachment Theory. And after certifying in several lymphatic drainage programs, I am studying with the Chikly Health Institute in Lymphatic Drainage Therapy. Doctor Bruno Chikly's research and development in lymphatic drainage techniques are the most up to date and evidence-based, and I think are the most effective in treating the lymphatic system.

I enjoy working with a variety of people, especially women, femmes, thems, and children, seeking to treat conditions that prevent us from living our fullest life. Honoring the intelligence of the body ensures deeper and lasting results.
